Where this work fits
I have designed network infrastructure connecting engineering systems and worked across the application and network layers to troubleshoot connectivity. That experience spans L2/L3 networking, TCP/IP, UDP, routing, VPNs, WireGuard, segmentation, and distributed connectivity across Windows and Linux. Bringing network design and application integration together helps distinguish a routing problem from an interface or configuration problem and gives connected systems a clearer path to reliable operation.
Problems I work on
- An application expects peers to communicate, but routing and configuration assumptions are implicit or distributed across several systems.
- Remote connectivity is needed without treating access to one service as access to an entire environment.
- UDP communication, VPN configuration, and segmentation are being considered separately even though their behavior needs to work as one system.
How I approach the work
- Describe the endpoints, traffic direction, addressing assumptions, and intended access boundaries before selecting or changing network configuration.
- Distinguish application behavior from L2/L3 reachability. A working network path and a correctly configured application are separate requirements.
- Use routing, VPN connectivity, and segmentation deliberately, keeping the allowed communication paths understandable rather than accumulating unexplained exceptions.
- Trace connectivity across Windows and Linux, checking application configuration, transport behavior, and routing before changing the architecture.

Frequently asked questions
Does networking experience include application code?
Yes. The experience includes configurable UDP communication implemented with C and Python and integrated with C++, alongside routing, VPN, and segmentation work. That makes the application-to-network boundary a central concern.
Can you help diagnose cross-platform connectivity?
My experience includes troubleshooting connectivity between engineering systems across Windows and Linux, considering application settings, TCP/IP and UDP behavior, routing, VPN paths, and segmentation together.
